It’s a bit rich for China to be protesting that the US is shooting down an errant satellite. This US satellite is going to be reentering the earth’s atmosphere in a matter of weeks anyhow, and when they hit it the hydrazine will disperse and, being highly reactive, be neutralized in the upper atmosphere in short order. Contrast this with China last year destroying one of their own weather satellites, which was in a stable high orbit. The debris from China’s test is still up there, endangering every satellite in high orbit for years to come.
I’m glad I don’t eat meat.
