It’s the Gnooze! (the G is silent) Gloom on Wall Street drives markets down worldwide, Israel increases access to Gaza, & Canada back steps after putting the US and Israel on a list of torturing nations. Marta Costello hosts the Gnooze - today’s top stories in about 3 minutes.

It really sets my soul on fire (figuratively, step away from the extinguisher) to get a pertinent viewpoint on world events that actually matter. I would rather take a good poke in the eye than hear one more update about how people in Hollywood suck at being parents and what is going on in the neverending saga of American Idol. If I cared about that crap I would watch the show or CNN.

Real news that affects the lives of real people. Marta you do not forget to pay attention to one of the most important things about getting peoples attention and that is presentation. The Gnooze is like a tasty treat for my brain brought to me in a very shiny colorful package that gets my attention and keeps it. Please keep up the good work and THANK YOU! I am telling all of my people about the awesomeness that is the GNOOZE.

Wow! Thanks Ben! I love reactions like yours. It’s really got me thinking that this could be more meaningful than just silly.

Thanks for sharing it with all of your people! That’s how this is going to be possible! :)

Great show! Poor Canada, being caught in a little truth-telling—how embarrassing for them.

(And, of course: Yea “gone pear-shaped”!)

Does this new show mean you found gainful employment? Also, how was As One?

Comment by Marta
2008-01-23 12:17:08

Can’t miss a chance to use “pear-shaped.” :)

I’m stepping back from the job search and evaluating possibilities. I have not ruled out a very well-timed lottery win.

As One was nice. Good to meet people in person but also WEIRD! You know, because you get used to people in their videos but seeing them in person is sort of Twilight Zone-y?

I am in complete empathy with the stepping back and evaluating, having just finished a stint of that myself. Opportunities will present themselves—I have every confidence.

Did you shoot any video at As One?

Morning Marta!
Way to go Canada. Call em like you see em.
Of course we support torture, how else would you explain Adam Sandler or Tim Allen as leading men in movies. I have to agree with Ben Above. It is sad to be in a culture that favors heavy exposure to a select group of the overly idolized “IN” crowd, while we all watch them hook up, break-up or self destruct. Man I had that crap in High School! (errr…except I was the popular one, yeah - that’s the ticket!). Bring back Jon Lovitz.

Happy Tuesday - Full moon and all!

And let us say: Hey.

Hey indeed.

I’m not sure how American Idol became news, but there you go. None of that around here. You have my gnooze guarantee on that.

Any weird happenings on account of the full moon?

I am working in Singapore and the taxi drivers told me we were in a recession before I could even get to the news. The world is freaking out over here. Also, I actually noticed the light before you mentioned it but liked the new look. Keep up the good work. I am spreading the news of your site and at lunch we all watch you everyday over here.

How’s Singapore?

Thank you so much for spreading the news about gnooze!!! That’s great. If we can get traffic up and steady here, I can produce even more, really kick it up a notch… so thank you! See you at lunch!

Unless, of course, someone stopped in the middle of watching the video to point out the lighting. Then again, since this was recorded earlier than anyone would be able to comment, that doesn’t really make sense either.

Look at the bright side Canada, at least you said what everyone else is thinking. Maybe one day you won’t retract it.

Thanks for another entertaining three minutes, Marta! :)

Job hunting is annoying. I’m stepping back from it for a bit and weighing options.

I really wish I could just do gnooze for my job. Maybe someday!

What would it take on OUR part to have you do the gnooze as your job ?? I think the word is spreding and that is a good thing and maybe you will have a full time job with snooze.

would like to see more info about YOU. You are what makes the GNOOZE.

More Please !!!

This is actually entertaining! I hate the news when did the news become celebrity gossip and why oh why dont I know a single thing about a single candidate thats important. Anyone know what any of theese people stand for thanks marta for reporting the Gnooze but can you give us some strait talk on these candidates.

Thanks

Hope the Job hunt is going well?

Comment by Marta
2008-01-23 12:31:18

Yeah, I’m with you! I like entertainment news and such but I don’t think it has any place in the news.

I’ve talked about the candidates often. Have you looked through the archives?

Job hunt is going well enough. Thanks for asking! :)

Great as always Marta! (Drat those Canadians for pointing out the obvious, anyway! Them and their Molson…) ;)

And to my fellow gnooze junkies…She’s obviously too nice to constantly bring it up, but if you can spare it, please go to the Donate section and throw a few sheckels the lady’s way, huh? Let’s keep the awesomeness…(hold on, is “awesomeness” really a proper word? Lemme look it up…It is, by cracky!) Let’s keep the awesomeness flowing! :)

:D Aw shucks! Thanks for that PSA, so to speak. I cannot express how much appreciate all the help I can get.

Honestly, the best thing of all would be to drive traffic up high enough where it’s enticing to advertisers and we’ll have them pay all the bills… then it’ll be all the gnooze, all the time. Well, as much as people can reasonably stomach anyways. ;)

Here’s to your awesomeness!

As always, I enjoy the gnooze. As always, I laughed at todays episode. and as always I found something to complain about. This time I’m writing. Lebanon shares a boarder, Syria shares a boarder, Jordan shares a boarder. Israel takes the heat? Funny? Sorta. The need for humanitarian aid is great, the issues complex. The surrounding nations foment the conflict as much as the palestinian desire to push Israel into the sea, and Israel’s desire to make them pay.

Comment by Marta

I agree: It’s truly a complex issue. Gazans just crossed the border in Egypt.

All the best to you, keep up your great work, and:
